Distinctive W Ceremony

Sigfrido Paz Paredes received the important Tourism Trajectory award in the Distinctive W ceremony, recognized by the most prestigious media outlets in Mexico as the most distinguished award in the Mexican tourism industry.

This honor, awarded for the first time in an event held in the Hotel W in Mexico City, was received with great excitement by the Advisor to the Board of Director of Sunset World, who during his career was the Sub secretary of Tourism (Sectur) and the Director of Project Cancun of Infratur (now Fonatur) which created the tourist destination.

Upon receiving the prize, a statue of Icarus designed by Mexican sculptor Delia González, Paz Paredes stated he was grateful for the distinction and mentioned that for many years his goal has been to fight for the recognition of the importance of the tourism sector in Mexico.

In addition, last May the School of Tourism of the University of Anahuac awarded the Anahuac Medal of Tourism 2011 to Sigfrido Paz Paredes for his work as a promoter and driving force of tourist activity in Mexico.

The Distintivos W ceremony, held for people, businesses and organizations that offer the highest quality services in Mexican tourism, was attended by authorities, businesses and more than 100 journalists that covered the event which was hosted by Marco Daniel Guzmán y Claudia Lizaldi.
