Construction Blog #1
Friday, September 28th, 2007Just over 200 days left to the opening of the Hotel! During the first 55 weeks of work, we have accomplished the following works:
Movement of Land: We cleared the area where the buildings will go up, tilled all of the vegetation removed and made compost to be used in the gardens. All of the pathways and platforms have been created, for which we have used over 50,000 cubic meters of stone. We dredged a canal of 8000 square meters of area that surrounds the central island. We have built two bridges to cross the rivers.
Deep foundation: So far we have built and placed 431 piles, which employed 5172 tons of concrete and 215 tons of steel. With that, we have finished the foundation of the main buildling, Villas Sur, the Sales Office, and the Beach Pool.
Structure: For cleanliness, quality, and innovation, we have opted for a prefabricated structure: all of the pieces are fabricated in a plant outside of Tres Ríos and then transferred to Tres Ríos, where they are assembled. We have 629 already made. This week we will finish the assembly of the structure of the service area, formed by 411 pieces.
Equipment and facilities: We have finished the construction of the water tank. The connection was made with the water main for the Reverse Osmosis Plant. We have completed the 10 wells that are necessary for the operation of the Air Conditioning equipment, reverse osmosis, and the treatment plant. We have already contracted elevators, air conditioning, and the waste water treatment plant.
Sample room: The first sample room has been finished and a sample “flexivilla” will be ready in the end of October.
Gardening: All of the edges of the roads and pathways have been cleaned and the reforestation process is underway. The Tres Ríos Greenhouse is already reproducing and growing plants that will be used to plant the 135,000 ft2 of gardens that Hacienda Tres Ríos will have.
Sincerely,
Ing. Diego Arroyo Cetto
